When we played this team last week, they were deserved winners but the score was wider than the game suggested; particularly given we had no subs and I said I was proud of the account the players gave. This week, their coach said to me 10-15 mins from the end ‘we’re hanging on here’. I think overall, we were the better team from back to front and the effort, fight, in-game adjustments that we showed were so pleasing to watch. We lost 4-2, but should have won 5 or 6-4.

Cody scored a lovely goal early and it was only 3 very good goals from their talented striker that kept them ahead of us. 4-1 was the half time score. Second half we really dug in, Seb scored and then it was only our finishing that let us down as Tommy, Seb, Cody and Jack all had really good chances. They created nothing in the second half but to their credit defended really bravely and committed to protecting their goal. Getting shots away in the box goes to the top of the list for training!

Man of the match today was Olly, who adapted through the game in midfield, tidied up, was calm with the ball and played some lovely passes too including the build up to the first goal. Also a shout to Cruz who had his best game for us
